Fantasy Dating’s Top 5 Ways to Get His Number

Okay, so there you are, all pumped up for the competition. Now that prizes, love and your ego are at stake, you’re ready to try anything.

Say you meet a guy at a coffee shop. He’s smart and funny. You are attracted to him. You chat about the neighborhood and how it’s improved over the years, and amazingly, yes, he remembers when the only restaurant around served hot dogs 24 hours a day.

You glance at the clock. It’s late and you have to work in the morning. You sling your purse over your shoulder and ready yourself to leave. You hope he’s going to ask you for your number, but he says, “goodnight” instead.

So you walk out the door.

Then you get home and repeat the scenario over and over in your head all the while thinking, “I should have said this,” and “I should have done that.” You torture yourself emotionally for not seizing the moment and missing the connection.

Emotional torture aside, if you leave without exchanging numbers, chances are, you will never see that guy again. And the bottom line is, without a method of communication, you can’t get points and you can’t date. Here’s where the “taking chances” kicks in.

Exchanging numbers is not as hard as it seems. Here are Fantasy Dating’s Top Five Ways to Get His Number:

1. Just ask.

Pull out your phone and say, “So what’s your number?”

For those of you who just gasped and thought, “I can’t do that!” Yes, you can. Here’s why. The response is a reflex. When you pull your phone out and start to punch in his name, his reflex response is to do the same thing.

Think about it, people respond reflexively doing everyday things. On your morning walk, when you pass a neighbor and greet them with, “Good morning!”

Their reflex response is, “Good morning,” right?

Don’t worry, granted that he is remotely attracted to you and has enjoyed his introductory time spent with you, when you pull out your phone, he’ll reach for his.

Okay, now back to Fantasy Dating’s Top 5 Ways to Get His Number:

2. Think of a question you want answered.

For example, say, “Maybe you could find out the name of that old hot dog joint and let me know what it was. The fact that I can’t remember is going to drive me crazy. Here’s my number…”

3. Find a need and fill it.

If a guy complains about not being able to find good live jazz, say, “Give me your number and I’ll text you the name of that jazz club.”

4. Be honest.

Tell him you had a great time. Hand him your business card and say, “I had a lot of fun tonight. Here’s my number.”

5. Use the “Let’s do this again” close.

Hand him your card and say, “Let me know when you come back here so we can meet up again, okay?”

Make it easy on yourselves! Have business cards handy. Sliding a guy a card is much easier than pulling out your phone, trying to type in his number and spell his name right while your hands are shaking. Be prepared and seize the opportunity!

What are some ways in which you’ve seized dating opportunities?

xoxo,

I always ask a question and tell him to text or call with the info. It works!

Any girl who gives me her number is aight with me. She don’t need to make excuses. Just drop the digits. I’m happy to let the ladies do the work.

I use business cards all the time. It’s the easiest way to do it. If he calls, great. If he doesn’t…NEXT! ;)
